Projects:

All content provided will emphasize hands on learning. Everything after that will be group based, hands on projects where students will learn by doing, failing, and succeeding along the way.

Lunch:

Parents will have the option to pack their students a lunch or choose a meal for their students that we pick up from a local restaurant. The price of the meal will be in addition to the total camp price and charged to the card on file. After project work block 1, we will walk as a group to the park to eat lunch where students will be provided with their food. An order form will be sent before camp starts.

Outdoor Play Time

Students will get one hour after lunch to be outside and play in the park. We will provide activity options such as SpikeBall, frisbee, football, etc. Students are also welcome to any outdoor activity they enjoy such as reading or art. We plan to get our energy out so we can focus when we get back to work!

Student to Teacher Ratio: 5:1

Camp size will be small, ranging from 10-15 students with 2-3 instructors. Students will be randomly assigned to groups with an instructor for each group. Come expecting to make new friends!

Daily Schedule

8:30AM: Drop off, Check in, Hang out

9:00 - 11:00AM: Project Work Block 1

This time will be used by students to begin or continue work on the daily or weekly project. Students will be working in groups or 4-6. Expect a super fun atmosphere with music playing while students do their hands on design and engineering work.

11:00AM - 12:30 PM: Walk to Park, Eat Lunch

We know kids love to be outside, so we plan to eat lunch at the park every day. Mentors will walk students to the Palisades Recreation Center where we will put down blankets, play music, and eat lunch. If parents requested a lunch to be ordered for the student, it will be provided to them then.

1:00 - 3:00 PM: Project Work Block 2

We will walk back to the makerspace and students will start their second work block of the day. This 90 minute session is for students to continue or finish work on their daily or weekly projects. Again, expect great vibes of groups work with music bumping in the background.

3:00PM Pickup and Checkout

Students will be expected to clean up and put away their projects starting at 2PM for pickup.
